ABOUT

I’m obsessed with words. I study them all the time and ever since I learnt to read, you’re far more likely to find me with my nose in a book than sitting in front of the TV. Today, I love writing about everything and anything. I spend my days learning how to mesh words with digital tools and playing with the form of words to boost user experience and ignite messaging.

I’m also a huge fan of the landscapes of the British countryside and love to learn more about the people and animals that inhabit them. I was moved from pillar to post as an RAF child, and while it’s been fabulous to see the world, there’s no place like a country village – ideally with an excellent pub. Sit me in a beer garden on a sunny summer’s day or tuck me on the wobbly table next to the log burner in the depths of winter, and I’m happy.

At the moment, I live in the American midwest (Indiana, to be specific) having moved here from the English countryside for my husband’s job. That means I’m absorbing the American approach to marketing and communications and travelling all over the continent. It’s a wonderful adventure, but it’s seriously lacking in proper country pubs…

But that’s more than enough about me. You don’t need to hear my life story because you’re here to help your business grow. You need words, and words are what I do best.

So, here’s what you DO need to know about my background that makes me the right person to help you:

  • I have a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, which means I survived agricultural college and I can bore you to death with ‘interesting’ facts about horses.
  • Next, I completed a graduate course with what was then called the Northern Racing College, now the National Horseracing College.
  • I then worked in the racing and bloodstock industries and adored it, however concluded that I needed to stretch my brain in a different way. Sadly, that did mean trading working outside in wellies and riding boots for a desk…
  • I’ve worked in communications and PR for the past 15 years, sometimes with international and stock exchange-listed brands, sometimes with start ups.
  • I’ve specialised in copywriting and content marketing for eight of those desk-bound years.
  • I work with clients operating in a wide range of sectors including equestrianism, farming, rural lifestyle, fieldsports, interior design, travel and luxury lifestyle.
  • I’ve worked for marketing agencies, charities and brands themselves, so I know the struggle from every angle.
  • I also know what it’s like to run your own business (one word – hectic), which is why I’ll treat your brand with the same care and attention I do my own.
  • People love my words. What else can I say? Head to my testimonials page to read what some of them have to say about those words.

So why Claydon Leveret? There’s nothing complicated behind the name – I adore hares and Claydon is a heavenly village full of wonderful people!
